Property Details

Designed specifically as a retreat from the rest of the world, the Muse is meant to inspire peace and tranquility, as well as the desire to be creative. Hence it's name - it is a retreat for the artist in us all.

Electricity is harvested via solar panels from the sun and stored in batteries. There is an invertor to run electrical equipment such as a computer and the TV, Stereo, etc. The fridge and lighting are 24 volt and run directly from the stored battery power.

Rain water is collected and stored in water tanks. Hot water is supplied via a gas hot water system and there is a gas cooktop in the kitchen. A camp fire BBQ with ready cut firewood and a gas BBQ complete the cooking facilities.

The Muse whilst closeable, is built to be open to the elements and as such there are no insect screens. Please open all the doors and windows and let the forest air circulate through the cottage. This allows the house (and you) to breathe.

The immediate area around the Muse is fenced to keep any stray, large woldlife from getting too up close and personal.

All linen and beach towels are supplied with extras stored on site. The house is serviced every 3-4 days which includes maintenence of both the power and water systems, washing of clothes if required and gardening.

On arrival at the Muse you will be met by someone who has an understanding of how the house works. They will explain how to use all the equipment, etc. Please be aware there is a need to conserve both power and water whenever possible - however ifs you are efficient in it's use you should have no shortage of either.

* PLEASE NOTE - If the close proximity of birds, wildlife and insects and the thought of living without airconditioning, hairdryers and an electric shaver fillas you with trepidation - THIS RETREAT IS NOT FOR YOU !!
